Call for RIS Projects – EIT RawMaterials

This EIT RIS (Regional Innovation Scheme) call focuses on supporting projects in countries/regions with lower innovation performance. It funds two types of initiatives along the raw materials value chain (exploration, sustainable mining, processing, circularity and recycling, material substitution):

  • Capacity Building: training, ecosystem strengthening, policy support, networking. Duration: 1–3 years. Funding: up to 100% of eligible costs.

  • Innovation Projects: development of technologies, products, services or business models. Duration: 1–3 years. Funding: co-funding required (percentage depends on TRL and project type).

The call offers funding opportunities of up to 100% (for Capacity Building), typically ranging from €300k to €500k per project, as well as expert support and access to the largest European innovation network in raw materials.

The programme is open to universities/research centres, startups, SMEs, large companies, NGOs, public agencies and institutions from eligible RIS countries. The minimum consortium requirements are:

  • At least 2 organisations from different eligible RIS countries.

  • Representation of at least two sides of the “knowledge triangle”: education, research and business.

  • Coordinator: Core or Associate Partner of EIT RawMaterials (or an affiliated third party).

Cut-off date 2025 (submission deadline 13:00 CET): 28 November 2025 (Cut-off 5).

Proposals must be submitted via the SeedBook platform. The call webpage provides templates, evaluation criteria and guidance (including a Go-to-Market guide for innovation).
