UK-based startup Bockatech has been recognised with the FEA Startup of the Year Award 2026 for its EcoCore® innovation, a patented foam technology for injection moulding that reduces plastic use in rigid packaging.
Applied to aerosol overclosures, EcoCore can reduce plastic use by up to 44% while maintaining performance and supporting recyclability through skin-foam-skin structures that are mono-material polypropylene.
A scalable solution for more sustainable packaging
EcoCore is designed to use existing plastics and injection moulding processes, helping manufacturers quickly reduce material consumption without major changes to production infrastructure or plastics supply.
The technology is compatible with virgin, recycled, chemically recycled and bio-based polypropylene, making it a flexible option for packaging companies seeking lower environmental impact alternatives.
