On this occasion, we interviewed Enrique Lacasa, one of the three partners at Lalax Tech. This start-up provides services covering the entire product development chain: design (mechanical and electronic), programming, development, prototyping and industrialisation.
What problem does your start-up address, and what solution does it offer?
In a competitive and constantly changing environment, many companies lack the in-house technical capabilities to turn disruptive concepts into industrial realities. Our start-up addresses this gap through two strategic business lines that connect innovation with tangible execution:
- High-Value Technology Services: We act as an outsourced R&D engine. Thanks to a multidisciplinary team with expertise in mechanical design, electronics (HW, FW and SW) and Artificial Intelligence, we cover the entire development cycle: from initial prototyping through to the final industrialisation of the product. We eliminate technical risk for our clients, ensuring scalable, market-ready solutions.
- Proprietary Products (Industry 4.0 and Circular Economy): We develop technology focused on efficiency and sustainability. One key example is our electronic pallet-tracking device, which enables real-time international tracking. In doing so, we address the lack of traceability in the supply chain, optimising global logistics and reducing operational waste.
How and why did you embark on this entrepreneurial journey? Is there any advice, based on your experience, that you would like to share with future entrepreneurs?
This journey grew out of the technical affinity and shared interests of a group of friends who are passionate about technology. When analysing the market, we identified a clear opportunity: technological acceleration is drastically shortening product life cycles. We realised that our multidisciplinary nature was our greatest competitive advantage; by mastering the entire development process (mechanics, electronics and software), we could offer a level of agility and adaptability that traditional structures cannot achieve. This is how we founded Lalax Tech, with the vision of creating our own solutions while simultaneously accelerating innovation in other companies.
Based on our experience, the advice we would give future entrepreneurs is that, although the journey is complex and full of uncertainty, the most important thing is to dare to take the first step. Success lies not only in the idea, but in consistent execution. It is vital to draw up a solid long-term plan and stay focused on the ultimate goal. Problems and pivots will inevitably arise, but with a clear vision and a cohesive team, every obstacle becomes an opportunity to learn and improve.
How do you expect the sector to evolve? And what are your expectations for your start-up?
Based on our experience of the sector, we expect it to evolve towards increasingly intelligent, efficient and specialised solutions. Technology is advancing at an enormous pace, and it is becoming increasingly difficult for companies to keep up to date with all the processes, materials, tools and methodologies that are constantly emerging. That is why we believe that a collaborative model in which companies work with a specialised technology partner will become increasingly common.
Companies will need to rely on teams with expertise in different technologies, capable of applying them to turn innovation into real, viable solutions tailored to their needs. It is no longer simply a matter of developing a product, but of understanding how to manufacture it better and more efficiently, optimise resources, reduce complexity and make more strategic decisions from the outset.
Our expectation is to establish ourselves as a leading technology partner for companies seeking to innovate in a practical, forward-looking way. Our aim is not so much to grow in size, but rather to take part in projects where, through engineering and technology, we can provide meaningful value to our clients, helping them become more efficient and adaptable.
Is there any news on the near-term horizon that you would like to share with other start-ups?
At Lalax Tech, we are undergoing a key strategic evolution: the transition from a model focused purely on design engineering towards a fully integrated end-to-end service covering everything from initial conception through to the final manufacture of solutions. At the outset, we focused exclusively on the engineering stage, leaving production to the client. However, the market has shown us that providing a complete solution delivers much greater value, allowing us to achieve higher quality and greater efficiency in the final result.
We are currently expanding our operational capabilities through a strong network of strategic partners, enabling us to take responsibility for manufacturing the technologies we develop. The future of sustainable innovation requires a direct connection between engineering and the production floor. Companies are no longer looking only for ideas or drawings; they want partners capable of turning theory into tangible, scalable products. That is our immediate horizon as a start-up: bridging the gap between the laboratory and industrial reality.
In which areas would you like to collaborate with other start-ups, companies or organisations?
Business cooperation and knowledge transfer form the basis of Lalax Tech’s activity. At present, our focus is on establishing synergies with organisations committed to developing new products, improving industrial processes and adopting advanced technological solutions. We act as the strategic technical partner capable of providing the engineering and industrialisation required to turn abstract concepts into viable, scalable products aligned with current market requirements.
With this in mind, we are looking to expand our network of collaboration in three areas:
Product development: Co-design and optimisation with companies and start-ups that need to translate their innovation projects into technically feasible solutions.
Sustainable supply chain: Partnerships with suppliers offering new advanced materials and efficient manufacturing processes.
Co-creation ecosystems: Active participation in platforms such as goCircular, which are essential for connecting diverse talent and accelerating innovation cycles.
