ALPERPACK develops circular economy solutions to transform olive pomace (alperujo), an abundant by-product of the olive oil industry, into bio-based materials for sustainable packaging. The project aims to reduce dependence on fossil-based raw materials and create new high-value applications from a local agro-industrial residue. We are currently working on material characterization, formulation, and scientific validation, with the goal of subsequently advancing toward industrial validation and packaging applications. Our model connects the olive oil sector, science, and the packaging industry to build a new circular value chain with a positive environmental and rural impact.
