  • Description of the activity / Ecodesign, new materials and manufacturing

DREMA is a Chilean science and technology startup founded by Drs. Nataly Silva and Sara Ramirez that turns research in nanotechnology and functional materials into solutions for a more sustainable industry. Our first development, +ZeCo, is a nanoactive additive designed to be incorporated directly into polymer matrices, providing antimicrobial and moisture-regulating properties. Its first application is food packaging, where we aim to make the packaging material itself help preserve food and reduce spoilage and waste. We integrate functionality into the raw material, without depending on coatings or external components, and seek compatibility with conventional industrial processes. We are advancing performance, safety and recyclability validation to combine protection, circularity and scalability. We believe the future of packaging lies in enabling each material to do more, protect better and have less impact.
