ALGBIO is an industrial biotechnology company integrating carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) with food-industry wastewater treatment to produce BioFlocean, the algae based bioplastic. Our microalgae capture CO2 and recover nutrients from food-processing wastewater, generating biomass that we transform into biodegradable, petroleum-free materials. This circular process connects wastewater remediation and carbon utilization with the development of sustainable alternatives for flexible packaging and conventional coatings. Recognized with awards from EIT Food and EIT Manufacturing, BioFlocean demonstrates our commitment to turning industrial waste into material value. ALGBIO operates a 3-ton production facility in Istanbul for pilot production, formulation optimization, and scale-up, with three patent applications through TÜRKPATENT, WIPO/PCT, and USPTO pathways.
