EDP has launched the Hope fund, a program dedicated to supporting social entrepreneurs, located in Latin America, Spain or Portugal or with solutions that impact these regions, with projects that contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive society. The program seeks innovative solutions to address social problems in the context of the energy transition.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to receive up to €500,000 in funding.
The fund will provide not only financing, but also mentoring and strategic support to the selected startups, with an incubation and acceleration program facilitating their growth and the effective implementation of their projects. These projects will be implemented in Spain, Portugal and Latin American countries.
The fund is an opportunity for social entrepreneurs to access resources and knowledge that enhance their positive impact on society.
Organisations interested in applying for the fund can do so through the Bridge for Billions platform, at this link, until September 8. Candidates must have a solution in one or more of the following:
- Provide access to clean, reliable, safe and affordable energy to underserved communities and/or disadvantaged people.
- Provide energy efficiency for underserved communities and/or disadvantaged people.
- Promote training and requalification for energy transition industries with affordable tuition models.
- Promote the preservation and restoration of forests and biodiversity with positive social impact, especially in neglected areas.
