Birch Biosciences has developed next generation enzymatic plastic recycling technology to manufacture 100% recycled content packaging and textiles at cost parity with polyester manufactured from fossil fuels.   Importantly, this low energy enzymatic recycling process enables a 70% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions associated with plastic manufacturing. Birch's main activity is developing and commercializing an enzyme-based recycling alternative to conventional mechanical recycling that is agnostic to feedstock and can efficiently recover polyester from packaging or textile materials without a loss of material quality or value.  Our core proprietary technologies are AI foundation models fed by novel laboratory data sets, as well as novel process technology for the recovery and purification of PET monomers.  Our current focus is scaling our operations from laboratory scale to 1 ton per day by early 2027 for textile recycling.
