Chemolex is a waste management company located in Nairobi, Kenya, positioned to combat the menace of plastic pollution. We employ a holistic model of community approach, recycling, and repurposing of ocean-bound plastic waste to do this. We have plastic waste capture devices installed across rivers, mostly in the informal settlements of Nairobi, since they are the most polluted areas. In addition to the waste capture device, we also have strategic waste collection hubs on major pollution hot spots across the river. All the waste collected in these areas is then taken up by our organization and recycled to create innovative construction material, such as paving blocks and fencing poles, and soon, we will be launching construction boards and decks for swimming pools. These construction materials are sold at a very competitive price in the market because most people right now are embracing sustainable construction.
