Chitolastic is a circular biomaterials startup transforming shellfish processing waste and mycelium-based biomass into high-purity, tunable chitosan and chitosan-based functional materials. We develop application-specific raw materials for packaging, cosmetics, hygiene, healthcare and advanced industrial applications. Our technology enables control over key properties such as molecular weight, deacetylation degree, purity, solubility and functionality. For packaging, we are developing chitosan-based films&granules, coatings and material additives designed to improve functionality while reducing dependence on virgin fossil-based inputs. Our B2B model combines recurring raw material supply, customised material development and co-development projects with industrial partners.
