CropNow

CropNow is a young Indian technology ecosystem focused on building practical solutions for agriculture, sustainability and resource management. Our work brings together engineering, technology and sustainability to address real-world challenges, with agriculture at the core of our innovation. Ivana is one of our most ambitious projects, addressing two interconnected global challenges: plastic pollution and agricultural residue. Around 400 million tonnes of plastic waste are generated globally each year, while packaging is one of the largest contributors to this waste. Ivana develops biodegradable packaging materials by converting rice straw, an abundant agricultural residue, into nanocellulose-based films and coatings. Through Ivana, we aim to turn agricultural waste into a functional material and develop a practical, Made-in-India alternative for conventional packaging.
