EvoNatura is a climate-tech and biotechnology startup based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. We tackle the global plastic pollution crisis by designing plastics with a programmable expiration date. Our core technology is a proprietary, tunable microbial additive that can be seamlessly integrated into existing plastic manufacturing processes as a drop-in solution. This additive encapsulates naturally occurring microbes, enabling bioplastics to rapidly biodegrade in ambient environments once discarded, rather than persisting in landfills for centuries. Crucially, our technology eliminates the permanence of plastic waste while fully preserving the material's structural performance and durability during its useful life. The degradation timeline can be customized, and the resulting breakdown products are non-toxic and environmentally benign, leaving no harmful microplastics behind. Ultimately, we provide scalable, molecular-level solutions to help manufacturers transition to a circular economy.
