Ichthion is an environmental technology company leading the Galapagos Guardians program, which aims to reduce by 30% the plastic waste reaching the Galápagos Islands by actively collecting waste before it enters waterways and intercepting plastic in rivers before it reaches the ocean. Our activities are structured around three main pillars: the deployment of our patented Azure barrier technology for the efficient capture and interception of waste in rivers; the organization of corporate cleanup initiatives that channel private-sector sustainability commitments into direct action on the ground; and collaboration with grassroots recyclers to improve their working conditions, recognize the value of their work, and formally integrate them into the circular economy. This impact is further supported by training programs focused on sustainability and proper plastic waste management, promoting measurable and lasting behavioral change.
