Mycelium Innovations is a Tunisian startup developing sustainable packaging materials made from mycelium, the root structure of mushrooms and locally available agricultural waste, especially palm residues. We design and produce biodegradable, compostable, lightweight protective packaging that can replace petroleum-based materials such as expanded polystyrene.
Our main activity is transforming agricultural waste into high-value circular packaging using mycelium as a natural binder. After use, the packaging can be planted to grow flowers, turning waste into packaging, and packaging into new life.
This approach creates value at every stage: from agricultural waste valorisation to eco-friendly packaging and, finally, to a regenerative end-of-life solution. We are currently focused on scaling production, improving material performance, and developing pilot projects with companies seeking circular packaging alternatives.
