Natupla is a Colombian startup that develops and produces bio-based, compostable pellets to replace hard-to-recycle flexible plastics, particularly plastics contaminated with food or not effectively collected by recovery systems. Our formulations use locally sourced starches, cellulose and agro-industrial by-products and can be processed using conventional methods, such as blown-film extrusion, without significant changes to existing machinery. We operate a pilot plant with production capacity of up to two tonnes per month and offer solutions for home and industrial composting, water solubility and the valorization of cocoa waste. We have already produced and validated 200 kg of bags under industrial conditions and work with converters to optimize performance and scale the technology. Our goal is to create functional packaging that can safely return to the biological cycle after use.
