SINBIOSYS

SINBIOSYS is an innovative deep-tech company and spin-off of the University of Bologna, developing advanced silicon-based luminescent materials for circular economy applications. Our core technology is based on non-toxic, highly efficient silicon quantum dots (SiQDs), engineered as invisible optical tracers that can be embedded into plastics at very low concentrations. Combined with dedicated detection systems, our tracers enable the identification, authentication and automated sorting of plastic products and packaging, supporting high-quality recycling and traceability throughout the value chain. We are currently scaling up the technology and validating it in industrially relevant sorting environments.
