Smart Plastic Technologies is a materials technology company developing solutions to solve for the end-of-life of conventional plastic packaging. Following years of R&D, we have been commercially deploying SPTek ECLIPSE® for the past three years. ECLIPSE® is our patented bio-assimilation technology for polyethylene and polypropylene, the plastics widely used in flexible packaging. ECLIPSE® is designed as a 1% drop-in technology that can be incorporated into existing plastic manufacturing processes without new equipment or infrastructure. Packaging remains fully functional and recyclable during its useful life. Plastic that escapes recovery bio-assimilates into water, CO₂ and biomass, rather than persisting in the environment as plastic waste. Our technology gives food and beverage brands, converters and manufacturers a practical way to solve for plastic packaging end-of-life, while working within today's packaging infrastructure.
