Unspent exists to build a world where the materials around us, from packaging to coatings to plastics, are safe by default. Today, high-performance materials still depend on hazardous, petroleum-based additives. They make labels adhere, keep films flexible, and help coatings survive heat and handling, yet many carry hazard classifications like mutagenic or skin sensitizing and were never meant to touch our food or the people who make it. Unspent unlocks the valuable chemistries inside industrial waste and turns them into specialty performance chemicals. We start with spent coffee, upcycled into COPOXEE, a bio-based epoxide platform, and COFFIBER, a natural fiber filler. These are high-performance, non-toxic building blocks that give manufacturers a safer, lower-carbon alternative without compromising on performance. We're scratching the surface, with large waste volumes and active talks to secure feedstock and scale.
