HaPPE Earth and Thermapet Technologies have been recognised as Platinum Winners at the MassChallenge Switzerland Awards 2026, receiving CHF 40,000 each in equity-free funding. The awards ceremony, held on 29 October in Lausanne, celebrated startups developing innovative solutions to challenges across materials, industry, food technology, healthcare and artificial intelligence.
The two companies were selected from an international accelerator programme that brought together 189 startups from 48 countries, highlighting the growing importance of circular materials and waste reduction in industrial innovation.
HaPPE Earth, an Irish startup, is developing a circular approach to personal protective equipment (PPE). Its system replaces conventional single-use plastic PPE with certified compostable alternatives and incorporates on-site bio-digestion to manage the resulting waste. The company also provides real-time environmental reporting, helping organisations monitor the impact of their operations.
Its solution targets sectors such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food production and industry, where disposable protective equipment generates significant waste streams.
Thermapet Technologies, based in Singapore, has developed TPET, a patented PET material designed to withstand temperatures ranging from -40°C to 220°C without additives while remaining fully recyclable.
The technology aims to provide an alternative to conventional CPET and polypropylene food trays, combining temperature resistance with compatibility with PET recycling systems. According to the company, its technology has been licensed across 75 countries.
Both innovations address different challenges within the circular economy: HaPPE Earth focuses on replacing disposable plastic products and improving waste management, while Thermapet Technologies seeks to improve the recyclability and performance of food packaging materials.
At Radar, we are pleased to see startups such as HaPPE Earth and Thermapet Technologies recognised for developing technologies that can help reduce waste, improve material circularity and support more sustainable industrial practices.
