TheCircularLab and Ecoembes are launching a new edition of the Circular Packaging Challenge, an international initiative that connects innovative startups with leading companies to solve real-world challenges related to packaging circularity.
The Circular Packaging Challenge aims to identify technologies and business models capable of accelerating the transition towards more sustainable and circular packaging systems.
The 2026 edition will be developed in collaboration with companies from sectors such as food, beverages, retail and non-food, defining challenges aligned with their real innovation needs.
Selected startups will gain access to:
- Direct contact with leading companies in the packaging sector
- Co-development and business generation opportunities
- Participation in pilot projects in real-world environments
- €16,000 in prizes distributed among the winners of the different challenges
- Visibility and recognition across Europe
How to participate
The call is aimed at startups and emerging circular economy companies developing packaging-related solutions, including projects focused on new materials, reuse systems, recyclability, traceability, and digital solutions applied to the packaging value chain.
Participating startups will go through a selection process including finalist selection, pitching sessions before an expert jury, and networking opportunities with partner companies.

After engaging more than 400 startups from 35 countries in previous editions, the Circular Packaging Challenge returns to continue driving open innovation in the packaging sector.
