Spanish startup Humara has closed a €1.2 million Seed funding round to scale its AI-based SaaS platform focused on the design and operation of waste management and recycling plants.
Founded in Galicia in 2021, the company aims to replace traditional spreadsheet- and CAD-based processes with physical simulation, artificial intelligence, and digital twin technologies. Its platform enables the modelling of waste flows, optimization of plant performance, and support for real-time operational decision-making.
Humara currently offers two main solutions: Humara Design, focused on plant design and optimization, and Humara Operate, a digital twin platform integrating operational data such as SCADA signals and sorting information.
The funding round, led by Impact Shakers, will support the company’s expansion across Europe and Latin America, the deployment of its AI copilot for plant operations — Duplantis — and the growth of its commercial and technical teams.
More than 250 plants across Europe and Latin America have reportedly already been designed using Humara’s technology, with clients including Veolia, FCC, PreZero, and Ecoembes.
At Radar, we support solutions like Humara’s that combine AI, simulation, and digitalization to advance towards more efficient, intelligent, and resilient circular infrastructures.
