MP2026 Awards at MeetingPack 2026: innovation in packaging and sustainability

The seventh edition of MeetingPack 2026, the leading international biennial event on barrier packaging and sustainable solutions organised by AINIA and AIMPLAS, has opened the call for the MP2026 Awards to recognise relevant advances in sustainable packaging across the entire packaging value chain. The awards are an integral part of MeetingPack 2026, which will take place on 21 and 22 April 2026 at the Museu de les Ciències – Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (Valencia, Spain).

🌍 Scope: International — open to companies and organisations from any country with solutions applicable at a global level.

The MeetingPack 2026 Awards aim to promote and showcase innovations in barrier packaging and sustainability developed by companies, technology centres or startups. This recognition highlights solutions that deliver real improvements in materials, packaging, equipment or processes, contributing to a more circular and efficient packaging industry.

The awards include two main categories:
🔹 Solutions for flexible packaging (films and flexible structures)
🔹 Solutions for rigid packaging (trays and/or bottles)

📅 Call and award format

✔️ Application deadline: until 13 February 2026.
✔️ Evaluation: in a first phase, an expert jury will select the finalists.
✔️ Final stage: finalists will present their proposals in a demo pitch format to congress attendees during the first day of the event.
✔️ Awards ceremony: the winners’ gallery will be celebrated on the evening of the first day of the congress, during the official event dinner in Valencia.

This format not only recognises technical innovation, but also actively involves the packaging professional community within MeetingPack, fostering participation, networking and sector visibility.

MeetingPack 2026 has established itself as a leading international forum for professionals involved in the development of materials, packaging and solutions that address the challenges of the circular economy. With a comprehensive programme including eight thematic sessions on sustainable packaging, innovative materials and strategies to achieve the 2030 sustainability goals, the event positions itself as a hub for technical and strategic dialogue within the sector.
