We show you here the results of the third 2023 report extracted from the first European study on financing for circular economy startups, developed in collaboration by NetZeroInsights and TheCircularLab-Ecoembes.
On this occasion, an increase in financing for startups related to the packaging sector stands out. It is noteworthy that, although the second half of 2023 is not yet complete, funding for European circular packaging startups is poised to far exceed 2022 levels. This sector has seen significant quarter-on-quarter growth (790%) , while financing in plastics grew modestly by 9%. Also to highlight, the battery and vehicle sector once again surpasses itself, reaching €1B in financing.
Thus, the 3 main product value chains vary again compared to the previous period. In this third period, the first place continues to be for the batteries and vehicles sector, with more than double the investment than in the previous period, second place is now occupied by the plastics sector, with €68M (€10M more than the previous period), while third place is recovered by the packaging sector, with €52M.
