Zinemaldia & Technology is a strategic commitment of the San Sebastian Festival promoted by the Basque Government, as a space to reflect on technology and the audiovisual industry and strengthen ties between both sectors. Within this, the Zinemaldia Startup Challenge is framed, a contest aimed at state and European entrepreneurs and startups whose projects incorporate new technologies applied to the audiovisual field.

It is one of the activities of Spanish Screenings: Financing & Tech, one of the axes of Spanish Screenings XXL, an international market for Spanish audiovisual production. In addition, Spanish Screenings: Financing & Tech will also include the second meeting of creative investors.
