Interreg Euro-MED Call 8 — Transnational Projects to Drive the Green Transition in the Mediterranean

Interreg Euro-MED has launched its Call 8 for Thematic Projects, a transnational funding call aimed at supporting mature projects focused on pilots, demonstration activities, and tangible results across the European Mediterranean area.

The call has a budget of approximately €20 million and is expected to support around 10 projects.

Call 8 will fund projects aligned with the programme’s three missions:

  • Innovative Sustainable Economy
  • Green Living Areas
  • Natural Heritage

The aim is to support initiatives capable of turning existing knowledge and solutions into pilots, concrete applications, and transferable results across territories.

It may be particularly relevant in areas such as sustainable production; industrial circularity; resource efficiency; new materials; waste prevention and management; the green transition; solutions applied to cities and territories; and collaborative innovation between Mediterranean regions.

Who it is for

The call is aimed at transnational consortia made up of organisations from the Euro-MED area.

Eligible participants include:

  • public authorities;
  • technology and research centres;
  • universities;
  • clusters and business organisations;
  • SMEs and private companies.

Private companies and SMEs may take part in the consortium as partners, although they cannot act as coordinators.

For Call 8, projects must include partners from at least five countries participating in Interreg Euro-MED.

How to apply

The call will remain open until November 13, 2026 at 13:00 CET.

Given its transnational nature and partnership requirements, it may be particularly suitable for SMEs and startups that are already connected with technology centres, clusters, public authorities, or other European partners and are interested in taking part in larger-scale pilot projects.
